Production process

The processes of making piano lacquer and wood veneer cabinets are different. Normally, piano lacquer needs to paint 3-7 layers. The paint thickness can reach 2 mm. Therefore, the cutout for drivers, port and terminal are done after paint process.

A: wood veneer cabinet

1. Cutting MDF. MDF (middle density fiber) is the most popular material when making speaker cabinets. The original size is 4' by 8'. We have to cut MDF in different proper sizes.
2. V-grooving.
3. Cabinet assembly. Assemble different pieces of MDF to a cabinet.
4. Laminate veneer. Use glue to laminate veneer on the cabinet. After that use High Frequency Hot Press to keep veneer adhering to cabinets firmly, we have to compress on every side.
5. Sanding by machine. Make the MDF smoother.
6. Cut-out. The drivers, port and terminal cutout is done by cutout machine.
7. Base paint. There are many tiny holes on veneer. Base paint can fill the holes.
8. Sanding by hand.Make the surface smoother.
9. Coloring. The color of veneer is very light, therefore, coloring process can have veneer showed in different colors.
